yoko ono wins hiroshima art prize for peace promotion through art
Kyodo (October 22nd 2010): "The 77-year-old New York-based artist is known for actively speaking out for peace, making speeches in support of the abolishment of nuclear weapons when she attended the review conferences of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty at the United Nations in 2005 (‘As A Child Of Asia‘) and 2010. Ono released a comment through the city, saying, “The tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were created by humans by themselves, and the humans also have the wisdom to eliminate their root causes,” in reference to the 1945 atomic bombings of the two Japanese cities in World War II. The award ceremony will be held next summer in Hiroshima. The city will also hold an exhibition of Ono’s artwork then."

"yoko reveals it was paul who saved her marriage to john"
Daily Mail (October 10th 2010): "Yoko tells The Times: 'I want the world to know that it was a very touching thing that he did for John. 'He was genuinely concerned about his old partner. Even though John was not even asking for help - John, Paul, all of them were too proud to ask anything - he helped. John often said he didn't understand why Paul did this for us, but he did.' As Yoko recounts, Paul and Linda McCartney visited her in New York early in 1974, and they talked long into the night. Paul asked Yoko what would make her take John back and she told him that if John courted her she would perhaps consider it. Paul then visited John in Los Angeles where he was living with May Pang, and according to Yoko advised him on how to get Yoko back. The fact that John immediately tried to court Yoko, and came back to New York, was hugely important she says."

first john lennon museum closes after 10 years
USA Today (October 2nd 2010): "The world's first authorized John Lennon Museum closed today in Japan after the license agreement with the Beatle's widow, Yoko Ono, expired."

The Examiner (October 2nd 2010): "Ono explained in February why the museum was closing: John Lennon's destiny spanned the whole world. His spirit came alive through movement, and without movement, it dies. If the Museum which houses his spirit never moved, it would be a grave, not a Museum. John does not have a grave. When he passed on, I publicly announced that I would not be holding a funeral for him. I did so because I knew his spirit would live forever."
