Information and English translation by Mikihiko Hori: "The first new book by Yoko Ono in 23 years! Through marriages, childbirth, divorces or by getting through the separation after the death of John Lennon and racial discrimination, Yoko Ono has always been persistent by "being who she is and living the way she wants". Twenty-five hints are written in this book which is dedicated to women who feel the difficulty of life and want to live to be themselves."

john lennon museum in japan may shut doors in autumn 2010?
The Mainichi Daily News: "According to sources close to the museum, all the items were borrowed from Ono under a contract that expires next autumn, and it is possible the contract will not be renewed. Furthermore, visitor numbers have dropped since the museum first opened, and the facility has reportedly lost about 100 million yen this year."

maureen cleave remembers john lennon
The Telegraph (December 14th 2009): "People sometimes ask what they (the Beatles) were like and the answer is – more fun than anyone else and terrible teases. The interviewer was outnumbered four to one: they might put your coat in the wastepaper basket, offer to marry you, seize your notebook and pencil, pick you up and put you somewhere else, demand you cut their hair. In hotel rooms, John’s favourite game was shuffling his feet on the carpet, then touching you on the cheek to give you a mild electric shock."

yoko ono on crawdaddy! magazine
(December 3rd 2009): "The obvious cruelty of a peace man dying by a bullet from a gunman’s hand would not have been lost on John, whose messages still resonate in the lifelong pursuit of art and peace activism of Yoko. Amongst her various other pursuits, she works to raise awareness of statistics on death by handguns occurring in the US each year."

yoko ono. the other rooms
Charta Art Books, 2009

The publisher: "Who was she? What was she thinking? I invite you to awaken her memory by interacting with her in these rooms and in THE OTHER ROOMS, to find ways to open doors to her where there are no doors. You may realize that her doors were your doors, and you were the one who left the rooms by only leaving a handful of dust from your world. You may realize that this time, you may want to leave more than the dust. Be a space transformer. Yoko Ono"

a new photographic book: john lennon - in his life
To be published on April 27th 2010 by White Star, with Yoko Ono Lennon's foreword.

yoko ono - queen bee
New York Times (December 8th 2009): "The year was 1935. Yoko Ono, age 2, stood on the deck of a ship, watching her parents embrace as they sailed into San Francisco Bay. “It was my first image of America,” she says. “I remember because I was waiting for my turn to be kissed.”

john lennon and yoko ono bench set to return to coventry
Coventry Telegraph (November 23rd 2009): "A replica of the bench given to Coventry by John Lennon may be making a comeback next year. The Telegraph published an article about the original circular garden seat in Backbeat. It was donated as a work of art for the 1968 National Sculpture Exhibition in the grounds of the old cathedral, but church officials refused to exhibit it."

"The replica was built as part of a commission by CV One for a local theatre group to stage some outdoor plays based on Coventry themes. The plays by Theatre Absolute ran for four consecutive seasons from 2001 and in the final season playwright Chris O’Connell wrote a City Story called The Lennon Bench."

a cultural history of the new york city subway
BeyondChron (November 24th 2009): "Although the New York City subway has entranced the public for over 100 years, Tracy Fitzpatrick’s book provides many new insights into its cultural and artistic significance."

"While many only know Yoko Ono as Beatle John Lennon’s wife, she was a key figure in the Fluxus art movement that emerged in the 1960’s and continued in one form or another for decades. Artists associated with Fluxus were the first to engage in performance art in the subway, with Ono holding a thirteen-day event in the Canal Street Station in 1966."

5 year plan
Flavorwire (November 25th 2009): "The 5 Year Plan is an art book of sorts, with contributions from artists like Yoko Ono and Francesco Clemente. It’s also an exercise in localized industry, traditional craftsmanship, and philanthropy, as proceeds from the handmade silkscreen books go to non-profit organization Doctors Without Borders. A preview after the jump. The limited edition book contains 30 pages of silk-screened artwork on hand-loomed khadi cotton cloth, 65 of which are signed by contributing artists like Ono and Clemente in addition to Donald Baechler, Chris Martin and Julie Doucet, plus emerging artists like Tamara Gonzales, Tim Wehrle, and Pushpa Kumari. Each book is handmade at every step by local weavers, printers, and bookbinders in India — a thoughtful counterpoint to the mass-market consumer culture that reaches fever pitch around certain winter holidays."

Yoko Ono's contribution is Imagine Peace declaration in different languages.
