PopMatters (January 4th 2011): "Wouldnit is as new as Walking On Thin Ice was when it was made. Friends immediately said it would be difficult for me to top Walking On Thin Ice. Well, Wouldnit is also that kind of song, I think. Let’s see where it goes."
"what i’ve learned about john lennon, 30 years on"
Esquire (January 2011): "Obviously, it was a very negative thing for me to lose such a good partner. He was very good. He was a very strong and beautiful and protective force for me. But his words and his music are still here. It will still affect people. And that’s the only thing they knew, anyway, when he was alive. So that’s the fate of an artist. It’s not a bad one. As long as you are what you have created, and what you wanted to share with the world, it’s still there."
"i didn't break up the beatles. my small hand could not have broken these men up"
Mail Online (December 30th 2010): "(John) would love the way the world has changed. He’d love the internet and Twitter. He’d be sending out pronouncements and messages and giving his opinion all the time on everything. He would be 70 years old, but he’d want to know everything that’s going on."
"My favourite photo is still the picture of John and me as the Two Virgins.I look at it now and it makes me laugh. We were coming from such a place of innocence and spontaneity. There was no retouching, no waxing – it was just us as we were and we weren’t ashamed. I was worried about how Sean would feel about it as he got older, but Sean loves this photo too."
fifty artists pick their personal top 10s: yoko ono & john lennon
RollingStone (December 2010): "God" 1970 -- "A very powerful and daring song. The first time I heard it, when he sang, "I don't believe in Beatles," I choked up. And so did many other people, for other reasons [chuckles]. It's very revolutionary, even more than the song "Revolution." It was breaking all the cobwebs and saying, "Here I am."
