no, no, no - a yoko ono inspired art exhibition
The Sydney Morning Herald (December 31, 2004): "Ono's recording career may only be one part of this story, but Sydney painter Maria Cruz has used her music as the basis of solo exhibition No, No, No at the Penrith Regional Gallery. Sampling song titles from Ono's albums, the artist has reworked these titles into vibrant text paintings. In a text work, the artist allows words to hijack the space of the image, making language the focal point of the painting. For the viewer, this can trigger an interesting confusion between the processes of reading and looking. Framed in an art context, the terms hang outside of their usual usage, spawning new associations. (--) Of course, the words and phrases in No, No, No are already loaded with intrigue because they've come from the mind and mouth of such an iconic femme. Some of Ono's song titles - consider No Bed for Beatle John and Mrs Lennon - shout out to her famous husband" See this show at Penrith Regional Gallery & the Lewers Bequest, Emu Plains, NSW, Australia, until February 6th 2005.

Anne Finnegan 2004: “A complex game of erasure and value is in play in Maria Cruz’s series of Yoko Ono Song Titles. Conceptuality is at its limit, tested against an often scintillating and always painterly sensuality…”

music video for ONO's every man has a man that loves him
According to Partizan Music Video Update, a video production group called Honey is "prepping for a very exciting and meaningful video for Yoko Ono. Yoko remade Lennon's song Every Man Has a Woman that Loves Him and made it into Every Man Has a Man That Loves Him and vice versa for a strong gay rights message."

at 71, lennon’s widow keeps causing a buzz
The State Journal-Register: "At 71, she is busier than ever. “This is funny,” she says. “Because when I was 69, I kept having this incredible feeling that I haven’t done anything in my life. And I kept saying that to my two children, Kyoko and Sean. I said: ‘I can’t believe I didn’t do anything in my life.’ And they said: ‘Please don’t say that, because we haven’t done anything!’

unheard lennon songs in musical
BBC (December 8th 2004): "Lennon's widow Yoko Ono has given writer and director Don Scardino permission to use the songs India, India and I Don't Want to Lose You. Scardino said: "We will tell the story of John Lennon's life using Lennon's own words and songs."

Houston Chronicle: "They're very appropriate for the periods they are showing," Ono said Monday. "People would say to me, what are you going to do about all of John's unreleased songs? And I've always said, I will put them out, but I have to find ways to present them in the right way. For these songs, I thought the musical would be a very effective, beautiful way to do it."

The musical will make its Broadway debut at the Broadhurst Theatre, New York, on 7 July 2005.
