Yoko Ono on June 17th 2005, Queen Elizabeth Hall. Patti Smith's Meltdown, South Bank Centre London, UK. Among other performers during the festival are Jeff Beck, Sinead O'Connor, Beth Orton, Kristin Hersh, Marc Almond, Neil Finn, John Cale, and Patti Smith herself.


Setlist and line-up:

I Want you to Remember Me, Why, Will I?, Rising, Mind Train, Open Your Box and Walking on Thin Ice remix by the Pet Shop Boys.

The Meltdown line-up: Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Yuka Honda, Harper Simon (guitar), Marc Ribot (guitar) and Seb Rochford (drums).

"Hats off to the scream queen"
a review by The Telegraph (June 21st 2005): "For the most part (while Ono wore a black velvet cap) this consisted of creating dense slabs of richly textured sound, the aural equivalent of a Rothko painting. At times it sounded like thrash metal with an IQ of 160."

Another review by The Telegraph (June 23rd 2005): "...it was the arrival of the older goddesses in the second half that really sent the congregation into raptures. Yoko Ono slunk on stage and with her shamanic wailing in four short minutes had spirited up the joyful uninhibitedness of a child..."
