As an organic gardener and rosarian, my own contribution to the energy expressed by John and Yoko's bed-in, has been for years to share with neighbors, friends and strangers the fresh vegetables and herbs from my gardens, and to take to my bank and post office and friends' homes bouquets of the ultra-fragrant Old Roses I collect and hybridize with.

Gardening is the central theme of my life in part because it suffuses each day with a calm, peaceful yet purposeful focus that allows me to effortlessly share my love of life, hard-earned after many years of soul work, with others. I think it may be impossible to be filled with thoughts and feelings of anger and violence while inhaling the astonishing fragrances of Old Roses like 'Souvenir de la Malmaison', 'Great Western', 'Duchesse de Brabant' and 'Cramoisi Superieur'.

I would not be surprised if roses added their peaceful scent to John and Yoko's bed-in when I see all the bouquets lined up in the window behind them.
