 john&yoko bed-in 35 years

I can remember the Montreal bed-in quite clearly. John and Yoko were doing live radio interviews from their bed with stations across the land. I was a 17 year old kid sitting in his bedroom in Nanaimo, BC Canada. I was listening to the interview live from a Vancouver radio station. I taped the show and it is still on an old reel to reel tape recorder that broke down. I believe the tape is still at my parents home, I now live in Vancouver. There was a 12 year old kid who called in and asked John if he and the Beatles had ever made records while they were high. I remember clear as day that John said, "We've made records at various states of height but my biggest high is brown rice'. Soon after John said he had to go, he was on the line to Berklee, California where the students were rioting for peace. John was telling them to chill out and that violence begets violence to paraphrase. It was very exciting for me to be listening to John and Yoko live and I was proud that it was in Canada. I was impressed with John's take on the Berklee riots. It obviously left an impression as I remember it very clearly after all this time. Some day I will dig out the tape I made of the radio call in.
