Dear John,

I'm writing you this letter

And it hurts me so

To tell you things that Yoko

Wouldn't want you to know

This world that we live in

Has become more insane

Love, peace,and happiness

Will they ever come again?

People just don't stay together

Cancer has a friend named AIDS

Kids are bringing guns to school

There are so many things needing to be saved.

Bombs have killed our own

Set off by our own, besides terrorist others

The president's in a sex scandal
He's in a world of trouble.

The media and paparazzi

So determined, and defiant
Helped kill a princess

So young,and oh, so vibrant

Even the weather has shown unrest

Tornados, floods, hurricanes

Fires in the west

People still walking around

With their minds that hate

Brother, I have to tell you-that I just can't wait

Much longer for a change

I'm growing old, lies I been told

And in the core of my being,

I,and we, miss you John

And wonder why

Your vision, this world still is just not seeing
