Ah
Yes, I Remember It Well
Seems
like only yesterday, I sawwhat seemed to be...
A hero of my childhood, singing
songs for peace.
What happened to his hair I thought,
Who is the lady
love?
It seems like only yesterday, I
began to hold a dove. This
may not seem poetic, in rhyme
or even time,
But only mister Lennon, could
say
"This sounds alright"
I hope that peace is gaining and not
just happenstance.
I never have forgotten we must Give Peace a Chance.
It does really seem like only yesterday, I think it was 1969, it was around Christmas.
Every time I read a magazine I saw the words, The War is Over, If you Want it.
How that influenced me for years. The idea that peace was close at hand, if we
wanted it seemed vital for our survival..It is many light years later, and the
words The War is Over if You Want it, seem timeless and just as vital. Everyone,
don't forget, what I know to be true, John always said and Yoko too, Give Peace
a Chance.
