Happy 75th Birthday, Yoko - you are a treasure!

Happy Birthday, Yoko-san!

For this special day, I would like to remind you of the exact day you were born 75 years ago. Well, sort of. Since you are such a bright person, you may still remember the day you were born or even the time you spent in your mother's womb.

The following comment is from your mother, Ms. Isoko Ono, and was cited from an article written about you in a Japanese magazine, "Shukan Bunshun", May 6th, 1974.

-- "She (Yoko) was born on the day of heavy snow at the Teikyo University Hospital in
1933. In hindsight, to start the first day of life, the fact that she was born on the day of a
silvery world was appropriate for a person like her who is pure and genuine."

No wonder you like snow! You must remember the snowy day when you came to Earth.

Yoko, thank you so much for descending to Earth like the snow. The snow which hit the ground has disappeared, but it turned into water and nourished the tress.

I feel like I am one of those trees which grew stronger thanks to the water you gave me.

"Someday we'll evaporate together."

Happy birthday, Yoko!! Many Happy Returns!!

Yoko Ono,

to your 75th birthday I wish you peace, health and good luck.
I am not a fan of you, because you aint't a "star".
I am not a fan of anybody, because I do not believe in "stars".
You have your own handwriting,
and used your popularity to express a lot in it:
yourself, a positive message and the pain,
that everyone, who is awake, has to deal with,
when looking on this worlds situation.
For that you earn acceptance and thanks
from all the free people.

Maybe we'll see each other in Bielefeld this summer?

With my best regards,

Manuel Hessling

i hope the lovely smile on your face that you sleep with turns into the big grin that you wake with and may the top of the hill be out of sight for many a year to come

Happy birthday dear you!! Today, the 19th of Feb is my birthday....Nearly same day as yours!

All the best,

Nick italy (21 y.o.)

Dear Yoko,

I am sending a wish for a peaceful lovely birthday for
you - if you want it ! I have the impression that you
are so busy all the time that maybe a little peace and
quiet would nice for you. But maybe that's boring for
you, so if you want to have an exciting, amped-up
birthday, I wish that for you too.

I would like to say that it's been so nice seeing you,
Olivia, Ringo, Barbara, and sometimes Paul making
public appearances together the last couple of years,
from the Cirque "Love" opening to the Grammies. I
think it's a wonderful display of togetherness.

The first time I heard your music was in the Summer of
1969 (I don't think any stores in my small town
stocked "Two Virgins"). When I heard 'Remember Love',
it was so soft and beautiful and innocent. It made me
visualize you wearing white lace and having a dreamy
rest in a field of daisies. A few months later, I
heard the single 'Don't Worry Kyoko'. It was a
hurricane of loud and strange future-rock, with
mysterious lyrics and a vocal like nothing I'd heard
before. This time the visual I got was of a raging
wild woman in black leather, throttling and throwing
the microphone (and herself) around the studio !

I marvelled that these two recordings could come from
the same person. I have followed your music and
written, visual, conceptual, and peace art in the
almost-thirty-nine years since then. I have continued
to be surprized and delighted. Thank you so much for
the many, many hours of entertaining,
thought-provoking enjoyment.

I loved last year's "Yes, I'm A Witch" and "Open Your
Box" albums. I also look forward to an album of new
Ono original material, whenever you have the time and
desire to make one. Congratulations on beginning 2008
with your third #1 Dance Club hit 'No, No, No' !

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

William Concannon

What a long time it must feel like. I am quite a bit younger, but feel myself like it has been a very long bumpy ride. I wish you another 20 years of doing your thing, with such perfection. Happy Birthday Yoko.
Your friend, Elizabeth Cadle

Dear Yoko,

I had the pleasure of briefly meeting you in New York at the theatre in August 2005 at Lennon: The Musical. I must tell you that the experience of meeting you and sitting next to some of your friends from Japan a few rows ahead of you at the theatre that night, made the experience of seeing the musical all that much more incredible. I was so touched by the play, and found it so creative of you to use many characters to play John. He was so mulitfaceted. You are such an incredible artist, as was he - way ahead of your time. I wish the musical were still playing, as I'd like to see it again. Is it available on video? It was so amazing.

Hope you enjoy another fantastic year and that you are blessed with peace, love, happiness, and health among many other bountiful blessings!

Love, love, love, Jill : )

Dear Dear Yoko,

Happy Birthday.

You are loved and revered and so is your work.
I wish I could have been there.

Yes...

Dear Yoko,

Happy Birthday! I hope you had a splendid day of celebrating. Thank you so much for all that you do for us John Lennon fans. If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have access to the wonderful things he accomplished in his lifetime. May you have many more splendid birthdays to come!

All the best,

Anna

Yoko, once upon a time while I was in New York City you smiled and waved to me, may that moment of happiness be returned to you many times over... Nyal Peterson

Cheers! Yoko leads the way.

Your birthday poem opened like a slit in a construction fence,
offering a glimpse of your view while wandering along a dragon’s back
and sipping the mysterious way.

Thank you for continually transforming wisdom and whimsy into a
shimmer -- a love-web spun from Yoko Ono magic.
